Recapturing Paradise by Rae Weaver
Coiled in perse-bruised loneliness,
she remembers dark curves
of peppered heat,
coconut smoothed.
A time apart,
tropically strange,
swirled from past to now
on breezes of sunburnt sand.
Sultry fever reclaims her bones,
dragging her under
turquoise mirrored waves,
sharp with desire.
On equator's coast
the goddess danced with her;
offered pome of her own
in luxurious abandon.
Gossamer touch in sundered space,
merging memory and moment,
summons her venus,
voluptuously mortal for the nonce.
