Zen Pussy a Meditation on Eleven Vulvas

Sprinkle & Joseph Kramer's Reviewer: Olivia de Court Zen Pussy is a film I believe every woman should own and view regularly. I actually learned quite a lot about myself in relationship to my, and other women's, genitalia; not that this is foreign territory to me mind you. To sit quietly and contemplate each of the eleven vulvas presented in extreme close up is a sublime experience whatever your sexual orientation. The beginning of the film briefly reveals the eleven vulvas in montage of approximately one-two minutes each in length. The only sounds in the film are the women's breathing, sighs and laughter and, the single peel of a meditation bell to announce each new vulvas arrival. The body of the film is similar to its beginning, differing only in duration of time the camera is focused on each vulva (four to five minutes each). Another interesting note about the film is that though the women are clearly experiencing sexual pleasure, there is no genital stimulation of any kind.
The first time I viewed the film, I found my attention weaving a bit between answering phones, making notes on my reactions to each vulva and the like. The second time round, I sat alone in my room with candles and incense, making it a ritual of sorts. I let myself feel the wide range of emotions the experience had to offer. I discovered, for instance, that though there were several vulvas I found quite beautiful, if the sounds the woman was making were not pleasing to my ear, I did not get sexually aroused. Conversely, if a woman made beautiful sounds, I found myself wanting to find her vulva visually stimulating. I think that this is the tip of the iceberg, I've got much more to discover about myself vis-a-vis Zen Pussy. Women are conditioned to think of sex and their genitalia something dirty, something to be hidden. This is a film that should be viewed often, as an homage to our sex and the vulva, the instrument through which our erotic music is made.
